Tony receives Lifetime Achievement Award by the American Creativity Association for his contribution to the field of creativity.

Singapore, 25 Feb 2008: A very significant event took place on 25 Feb 2008 in Singapore. Tony Buzan was awarded the “Lifetime Achievement Award” by the American Creativity Association for his contribution to the field of creativity.

Other past recipients of this award includedDr. E. Paul Torrance, Alumni Distinguished Professor Emeritus, University of Georgia and one of the pioneers in education and creativity research, studying the identification, development and utilization of creative talent.

Singapore hosts world’s first festival to celebrate and encourage growth of brain power through Mind Mapping

Singapore, Tuesday, November 13, 2007 – To celebrate the powers of the human mind and to encourage learning, innovation and creative thinking, SIM Professional Development and Buzan Centre Asia Ltd (BCA) today opened the world’s first Mind Map festival.

This landmark event is expressly designed to showcase how people from all walks of life can “break the brain barrier” to achieve new levels of brain performance through Mind Mapping.

Organized by SIM Professional Development and BCA, and presented by leading food and health supplements enterprise Cerebos Pacific Ltd., the Brand’s® SIM Mind Map Festival features a packed week of events, including some “firsts”:

The unveiling of the World’s Largest Mind Map
The setting of new Singapore and Buzan's Book of Mental World Records by primary and secondary students from across the country
The world’s first Global Mind Map Conference

“In this new world, it is important that we tell people that anyone can learn to use their brainpower more effectively with Mind Maps, and to show them how with this inaugural event, the first in Singapore and the world,” said Mr. Lee.

Mind Mapping
Mind Mapping is a powerful graphic technique designed to help unlock the full potential of the human brain. It is used by former US Vice-President and Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore, Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates, management guru Ken Blanchard, and CEOs and leading executives from Fortune 500 companies.

It is also used by schools, governments and government departments worldwide. Over 250 million people in over 100 countries are using Mind Maps to help themselves enhance their creativity, learning ability, and brain power.

World’s Largest Mind Map
The festival also saw the unveiling of the World’s Largest Mind Map. Measuring 10 metres by 14.6 metres, it has set a record as the largest single canvas drawing in the world.

Created by 1,875 students from 15 schools across Singapore, the World’s Largest Mind Map features Singapore’s history, culture, and achievements on one single huge drawing.

“The giant Mind Map not only puts Singapore on the world’s map, it is also a visual reminder that with brain power big things can be achieved. In celebration of the importance of healthy diet and a healthy body for a healthy mind, the Brand’s® SIM Mind Map Festival also saw the setting of new records for the following, which will be entered in the Singapore Book of Records:

Brain New World
In addition, the festival also sees the opening of the inaugural Global Mind Map Conference, which will run from November 14 to 15. Themed around “A Brain New World”, the conference will feature over 20 experts from around the world, who will show delegates how they can leverage Mind Maps in three application areas: business, education, and personal life.

The Brand’s® SIM Mind Map Festival runs from November 13 to 30 at the SIM Headquarters Atrium at 461 Clementi Road. Other fringe events include "The Art of Mind Map Showcase" and "The Story of Mind Maps and the Man Behind it Gallery". The Global Mind Map Conference runs from November 14 to 15 at the SIM Headquarters.
